For a lot of us, high school football season has no
beginning or end. We just live in different emotional moments tied
to the last great team sport: Anticipation of the coming season,
excitement of the first game, disappointment of the first loss,
renewed hope in avenging that loss, pride in watching young men grow on
and off the field and sadness at the end for the seniors. Here we
are at that junction where we all feel somehow cheated that it ended
prematurely, yet excited about next year.
Its a tribute to our coaches, players and fans when a 7-4 record is hard
to swallow. Thank you to the seniors for your commitment to your
school, teammates coaches and fans. You have secured your place as
a building block in the Pioneer Nation! To all the returning
players, a new season is just beginning, how high will you build?
